Inspiration From The Designers
What Inspired My Style
Welcome back beautifuls for todays blog post! Today i will be talking about movies that really inspired me when it came to our movie project!
To start off with I like coming-of-age movies that are a little bit on the sadder side and not always has the happiest endings but still conveys an important message and slef-development of the characters.
These types of films can really make you self-reflect on things. I love when a movie can just grab me in this way, that is why I wanted to do something like it. Something people can relate to and make them wonder about. So let's start off with one of my favorite movies within the slice-of-life and coming of age genre. What inspired this sadder tone we took in our movie opening was inspired by the movie "..." This movie similarly deals with the feeling of loosing someone and how to come above it.
The movie itself had an ending that would make me tear up but at the same time be the perfect ending that really made think about it afterwards for days. That is what I wanted to achieve with our movie idea, I wanted it to be able to move peoples heart, to have a meaningful message. Moreover, another movie that gave much inspiration was "Lady Bird" this movie follows a teenager and how her perspective on life changes. This gave the idea to include how our main characters self-growth is connected to her maturity and her overall perspective she has on life, or about being alone. Moreover, when we look at title sequencing which I elaborated a lot on a previous blog, so be sure to check it out! There were some ideas coming from different movie.
Our final title sequencing idea came from the movie Deadpool and Wolverine where the title sequencing is right on the objects as the main character interacts with them. However before that there were movies that provided different ideas before we decided on one. For me the way the movie Twighlight uses its title sequencing stood out as I liked how they set the mood of the movie without yet getting too much into the story it self and using more of locational images. This kept the beginning of the movie more mysterious. However even though I liked this idea for title sequencing the main reason we didn't roll with it is because I felt like this type of title sequencing did not really fit the genre we were working with so I had to scrathc this idea.
When it comes to the overall birthday idea I think the most influence that had over me was being inspired by Melanie Martinez and the song she wrote "pity party" it gave me the idea of a birthday spent alone as it can create a very interesting situation.
I mean think about it how would you feel if no one showed up for your birthday? Sadness? Anger? that is why this situation was a great way to include a teenager with pent up emotions all over the place. That it pretty much the jest of what gave the inspiration and ideas for this movie opening for me.
Well that is it for today my fashionistas I hoped to give you guys a little sneak peak of what were some movies that inspired us. and I hope to see you back in our next blog post!
