What to Prepare for The Runway

Welcome back beutifuls for todays blog post, I will be discussing how my group is preparing to start the filming of are movie! There is a lot of things to talk about so let's not waist time and let us jump into it!

So to start off with we pretty much know exactly how we are going to film, considering angles, lighting, props and such. However there are still much more things to consider before we start our filming process:

Actors

Our movie opening does not require a lot of actors since it is only the main character, Gigi, that is going to be present in the filming process. To do this role we first picked one of our group members, Elliah, however she felt like she would be more comfortable in contributing in other parts of the project rather than being the actor, so in the end I ended up taking the job of playing our main character. To do this role I really want to focus on my facial acting since there is no actual monologue or dialogue taking place, because of this my facial expressions as the character will be the key factor to deliver an understanding of the characters emotions to the audience.

Costume

Since our character is celebrating her birthday we want her to have a very elegant princess like dress, this will create an ever bigger contrast between the characters sadness and loneliness with how happy and special the today was supposed to be.

Another part of the costume we want to include is a birthday stash. This stash will be have a significant role in expressing the anger and swinging emotions of Gigi. For our costume design we left this task to Elliah since she is a very fashionable and creative person so she could definitely do a good job of putting the vision we want onto the character. 

Props

As for the props we want to use some significant ones include the makeup our character uses in the beginning which will also show our title sequence. Some other props include birthday decor which will create the environment that match the theme and further visually reminds the audience of the occurring events. Furthermore, we will also use a cake and candles as a staple piece since this will really pull together the ending of the opening. Elliah and Mini Minh will be in charge of bringing these props.

Locations

Choosing the location for the filming was easy since our genre does not require any difficult set up. So we will be filming at my house at it will be spacious enough for filming and has components that we want in the film such as walking down the stairs. Another good factor is there is a lot of windows in all parts of the house which will create a good natural light that we can use.

Dates and times

We decided to film over the winter break on December 3rd. We want to film mid-day because we just want a soft natural light to be used. It is also a good part of the day since the lighting should not change too much mid-day so we have plenty of time to do the film in the same light. We ended up deciding to only use natural lighting and not use artificial light is because we came to the conclusion together that this way it would fit the genre and mood of the movie opening better.

Film equipment

For our film equipment we won't be needing too much. We will use and iPhone to film our scenes, which will Thu be in charge of.

CCR  Welcome back my beautifuls in todays blog I will be discussing my reflection I had regarding the project! To do my reflection I decided to draw an animation to illustrate and do a voiceover, I also included some slides to condense some information. I think the animation is very cute and kind of an attention hook. It took some time to finally complete it as I first drew the animation and timed each frame so it matches the voiceover. The Finished Runway Looks

The Finished Collection Welcome back my beautifuls for today's blog post! Today I am happy to announce that we have finally finished our entire project! I! I just have to say it was sure an interesting and fun experience. I tried and learned a lot of techniques regarding media including learning about different angles, shot sizes, camera movements. I even made my very own story boarding twice! I also learned about the miss and scene of movie making and how costuming, the setting, actors, lighting, all of that can add so much characteristics and improved story telling to a movie. When making our project there were lot of things we could use, and making the right choices in our movie making did put up a challenge for us.
